HCA's secondary students have the opportunity to participate in both Drama productions and behind-the-scenes Theatre Arts.
Students can audition to be a part of Drama productions, which rehearse outside of class, in order to allow everyone an opportunity to participate, regardless of their individual class schedule or athletic obligations. Past productions include Broadway Dessert Shows, Improvisational Comedy Shows, Christmas Variety Shows, Plays and Broadway-style Musicals.
Theatre Arts is an elective that allows students the opportunity to both learn about, and participate in, designing and constructing sets, costume and prop pieces for staged productions. Students learn about Theatre History and work both individually and in groups to research and design for productions, including HCA’s actual productions and special events. An emphasis is put on serving the school with our God-given talents (1 Peter 4:10) and always striving for the very best in quality in order to glorify God (Colossian 3:23).
