Honors Academics Team
The Honors Academic Team is a group of high school students identified by standardized testing, high academic performance and teacher recommendation who train to compete in different academic competitions for Honors credit. Students train under the leadership of a teacher or administrator and prepare for various academic competitions such as mathematics, advanced mathematics, social studies, current events, spelling, ready writing, science fair, and speech. Students must meet the following criteria to continue in the program: 1) Students must meet all milestones as set by the assigned teacher/administrator; 2) Students must maintain a 90 or above non-weighted average in the Honors subject; 3) Attend scheduled meetings with teacher/administrator. If a student must miss a meeting, prior written notification must be sent to the teacher/administrator.
