Athletic Culture

HCA Athletics provides the opportunity for students to develop their character and demonstrate their competence outside of the classroom, and some students may discover their calling relates to athletics. Athletic competition encourages student-athletes to develop their physical, mental, social, emotional and spiritual gifts.

In practice and competition, students learn first-hand about…

    • Character
    • Integrity
    • Discipline
    • Respect
    • Work Ethic
    • Leadership Skills
    • Success & Failure

Athletes strive to compete and win at the highest level while maintaining a commitment to win and lose with honor. Coaches and athletes conduct themselves with excellence and a commitment to do all things for the glory of Christ (Colossians 3:17). Coaches are knowledgeable and competitive, but they also model a mature relationship with Christ. Glorifying God in all we do applies to competition, as well as academics and everyday life.
