Providing dress-rehearsal for life
HCA's Middle School and High School students have the opportunity to participate in both Drama productions and behind-the-scenes Theatre Arts.
HCA offers a variety of theatre opportunities, including:
- Instruction in Choreography, Singing, Acting, and Improvisation
- Learning to serve “behind the scenes” in Design, Management, & Technology
- Biblically-integrated content
- Family-friendly shows
An emphasis is put on serving the school with our God-given talents (1 Peter 4:10) and always glorifying God by striving for high-quality productions (Colossian 3:23).
Students can audition to be a part of Drama productions. Rehearsals happen outside of class time in order to allow everyone an opportunity to participate, regardless of their individual class schedule or athletic obligations.
Past productions include Broadway Dessert Shows, Improvisational Comedy Shows, Christmas Variety Shows, Plays and Broadway-style Musicals. Some of our recent big performances include…
- 2019 Peter Pan Jr.
- 2018 The Little Mermaid Jr.
- 2017 Seussical Jr.
Theatre Arts is an elective that allows students the opportunity to both learn and participate in designing and constructing…
- Prop Pieces for Staged Productions
Students learn about Theatre History and work both individually and in groups to research and design for productions, including HCA’s actual productions and special events. These students have critical jobs that allow these shows and productions to happen smoothly.
